What this checker looks for
- Generator names, prompts, seeds, samplers, and workflow data embedded in the file.
- C2PA or Content Credentials markers and readable provenance claims.
- Camera make, model, lens, exposure, date, and other capture fields.
- Editing software and container-level metadata.
How to read the answer
A generator workflow or explicit AI provenance claim is stronger than a missing EXIF block. Consistent camera and exposure fields support a captured-photo interpretation, but metadata can be copied or changed.
“Not enough evidence” is a useful result. It means the current file cannot support a confident origin claim.
AI photo and AI picture checks need context
An AI image checker cannot recover evidence that a platform removed. Save the source URL, ask for the original file, look for earlier copies, and compare the result with the surrounding claim. For consequential decisions, use a second independent method and human review.
